Becoming More Christlike

The Savior is the ultimate example. He treated others with kindness and respect. He served them and was not afraid to teach them or to talk boldly when he needed too. These are all attributes that strive to emulate in my own life. I want to be a better person. I want be kinder, gentler, yet bolder when needed. I want to be courageous and be a defender of the truth. This blog is my small attempt at being bold, by sharing my testimony and beliefs with whomever may come across it. I want others to find the joy and happiness that I have found by being a disciple of Christ.

                                                              Becoming More Christlike Quotes
"As Jesus taught, those who love Him will keep His commandments. They will be obedient, as President Thomas S. Monson taught this morning. Following Christ is not a casual or occasional practice but a continuous commitment and way of life that applies at all times and in all places." Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Followers of Christ, April 2013 General Conference

“Your worthiness and your desire will shine in your face and your eyes. You will be excited about the Lord’s Church and His work, and it will show. You will be His disciple 24 hours a day in every situation. You won’t need to build up your courage for one great moment to speak to someone and then retreat.” President Henry B. Eyring, "A Child and a Disciple", April 2003 General Conference

“That is the mark of every person who is bold and effective in sharing the gospel. They see themselves as children of a loving, living Father in Heaven. And they see themselves as disciples of Jesus Christ. It takes no discipline for them to pray. They do it naturally. It is no special effort to remember the Savior. His love for them and theirs for Him is always with them. That is who they are and how they see themselves and see those around them.” President Henry B. Eyring, "A Child and a Disciple", April 2003 General Conference

The love of Christ is not a pretend love. It is not a greeting-card love. It is not the kind of love that is praised in popular music and movies. This love brings about real change of character. It can penetrate hatred and dissolve envy. It can heal resentment and quench the fires of bitterness. It can work miracles.” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Your Wonderful Journey Home" April 2013 General Conference: General Young Women Meeting

“When one follows the course marked by the road signs of the gospel of Jesus Christ and places his trust in the Lord, its influence is such that it is manifest not only in action and deed but by a marked and visible change in his very being. There is a special light and a spirit which radiates from his eternal soul. It can be described in words like brightness, light, joy, happiness, peace, purity, contentment, spirit, enthusiasm, etc.” L. Tom Perry, "Trust in the Lord", April 1978 General Conference

“To you who have embraced the gospel of our Lord and Savior, stand as a beacon upon a hill to light the way for those who seek a happier, more fulfilling life.” L. Tom Perry,  "Trust in the Lord", April 1978 General Conference

“Following Christ is not a casual or occasional practice but a continuous commitment and way of life that applies at all times and in all places.” Dallin H. Oaks, "Followers of Christ" April 2013 General Conference

“Jesus’s teachings were not meant to be theoretical. Always they were to be acted upon.” Dallin H. Oaks, "Followers of Christ" April 2013 General Conference

“Regardless of your circumstances, you can center your home and your life on the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the source of true peace in this life.” Richard G. Scott, "For Peace at Home" April 2013 General Conference

“As we choose to follow the Master, we choose to be changed—to be spiritually reborn.” David A. Bednar, "Ye Must Be Born Again" April 2007 General Conference

“Sporadic and shallow dipping in the doctrine of Christ and partial participation in His restored Church cannot produce the spiritual transformation that enables us to walk in a newness of life. Rather, fidelity to covenants, constancy of commitment, and offering our whole soul unto God are required if we are to receive the blessings of eternity.” David A. Bednar, "Ye Must Be Born Again" April 2007 General Conference
