Youth

I am one of thousands of young women leaders through out this world. I love the youth. They are so strong, wise, and kind. The youth in my ward amaze me every week. They are thoughtful and courteous and frankly I want to be like them when I grow up. ;) My children are young but they will be "youth" before I know it. I want to prepare them so that they will know how to study their scriptures, how to recognize the spirit, how to serve others, and how to share their testimonies. I loved every single quote I found on the youth. I am trying to do all that I can to be a good example to the youth that I get to see each day. I know that I am grateful for their examples as well.

                                                                     Youth Quotes
My brothers and sisters, the great test of this life is obedience.” Thomas S. Monson, Obedience Brings Blessings, April 2013 General Conference

“Perhaps no generation of youth has faced such far-reaching decisions as the youth of today. Provision must be made for school, mission, and marriage. For some, military service will be included.” Thomas S. Monson, Come All Ye Sons of God, April 2013 General Conference

“First, study diligently. All that has been said this evening points to the holy scriptures as an unfailing guide in our lives. Become acquainted with the lessons the scriptures teach. Learn the background and setting of the Master’s parables and the prophets’ admonitions. Study them as though each were speaking to you, for such is the truth…Let us hearken to the gentle yet persuasive appeal of the Apostle Paul as he counsels his young friend Timothy: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” Thomas S. Monson, A Time to Choose, April 1995 General Conference, General Young Woman Meeting

“He didn’t send you on this journey only to wander aimlessly on your own. He wants you to come home to Him. He has given you loving parents and faithful Church leaders, along with a map that describes the terrain and identifies the dangers; the map shows you where peace and happiness can be found and will help you plot your course back home.” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Your Wonderful Journey Home" April 2013 General Conference: General Young Women Meeting

“Of one thing you can be certain: every person you see—no matter the race, religion, political beliefs, body type, or appearance—is family. The young woman you look at has the same Heavenly Father as you, and she left His loving presence just as you did, eager to come to this earth and live so that she could one day return to Him.” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Your Wonderful Journey Home" April 2013 General Conference: General Young Women Meeting

“let me assure you that you all have reasons to think beyond the horizon of provinciality because you are a royal generation. Even angels are cheering you on; they know of the great divine potential that lies within you.” Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Wind Beneath Your Wings" November 11, 2003, BYU Devotional

“You teenagers embrace your new curriculum and teach one another the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Now is your time to prepare to teach others about the goodness of God.” Russell M. Nelson, "Catch the Wave" April 2013 General Conference

Don’t rationalize away future happiness by taking shortcuts instead of applying sound gospel principles. Remember: little things lead to big things. Seemingly insignificant indiscretions or neglect can lead to big problems. More importantly, simple, consistent, good habits lead to a life full of bountiful blessings.” Richard G. Scott, "For Peace at Home" April 2013 General Conference

“There is a great difference between love and lust. Pure love yields happiness and engenders trust. It is the foundation of eternal joy." Richard G. Scott, "The Sanctity of Womanhood" April 2000 General Conference

“For youth, there is no substitute for seeing the gospel lived in our daily lives. The stripling warriors did not have to wonder what their parents believed. They said, “We do not doubt our mothers knew it.” Robert D. Hales, "Our Duty to God: The Mission of Parents and Leaders to the Rising Generation" April 2010 General Conference

“It is our imperative duty to help youth understand and believe the gospel in a deeply personal way. We can teach them to walk in the light, but that light cannot be borrowed. They must earn it for themselves. Robert D. Hales, "Our Duty to God: The Mission of Parents and Leaders to the Rising Generation" April 2010 General Conference

“In these perilous times it is not enough for our youth to merely know. They must do… To truly choose the Lord’s way, they must know His way. And to truly know His way, we must teach and lead them to act, to participate, to do.” Robert D. Hales, "Our Duty to God: The Mission of Parents and Leaders to the Rising Generation" April 2010 General Conference
